The 2nd International Conference on Advances in Information Technology (IAIT2007), is the follow up of the 1st International Workshop in Applied Information Technology held in Bangkok in 2005. The conference aims to provide a forum for researchers, educators, government officials, consultants, managers, developers and others in the rapidly growing field of information technology (IT) to meet, discuss and exchange ideas on recent advances. The synergy of this gathering will greatly benefit the global IT society. CONFERENCE:
The Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL) is a major international forum focusing on digital libraries and associated
technical, practical, and social issues. JCDL encompasses the many meanings of the term "digital libraries", including (but not
limited to) new forms of information institutions; operational information systems with all types of digital content; new means of
selecting, collecting, organizing, retrieving and distributing digital content; digital preservation and archiving; and theoretical
models of information media, including document genres and electronic publishing.
Participation is sought from all parts of the world and from the full range of disciplines and professions involved in digital
library research and practice, including computer science, information science, librarianship, archival science and practice, museum
studies and practice, technology, medicine, social sciences and humanities. All domains---academic, government, industry, and
others---are encouraged to participate as presenters or attendees.

VENUE
The conference will be held in Vancouver, regularly ranked as one of the world's most livable cities. The conference hotel, the
Westin Bayshore, is a resort hotel on the water's edge, with sea and mountain views and easy access to the 1000-acre Stanley Park,
as well as the city's shopping and restaurants.

SUBMISSIONS
Paper Submission
Full and short papers will be included in the conference proceedings and will be presented at the conference. Papers must be in
English with a limit of 10 pages (approximately 5000 words) for full papers and 2 pages for short papers. All papers must be
original contributions (i.e., have not been previously published or currently under review for publication elsewhere). All
contributions are to be submitted in electronic form via the JCDL 2007 submission web page, following ACM format guidelines and
using the template provided (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html
<https://webmail.ntu.edu.sg/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.acm.org/sig…> ). Preferred submission
formats are PDF or Microsoft Word. The conference will award the Vannevar Bush Award to the best full paper.
Panels
Panels provide opportunities for experts in complementary areas to present multiple, contrasting viewpoints on compelling topics.
Successful panel proposals involve a controversial or emerging topic, and articulate and enthusiastic panelists with differing
perspectives.
Panel proposals should consist of: (1) a title and 1-page extended abstract explaining the topic and goals of the panel; (2) a list
of individual presenters and viewpoints; and (3) contact information for the organizer, moderator, and panelists. Panels typically
have 3-4 members and a single moderator. All contributions are to be submitted in electronic form via the JCDL 2007 submission web
page.
Posters and Demonstrations
Posters permit presentation of late-breaking results in an informal, interactive manner. Poster proposals should consist of a title,
1-page extended abstract, and contact information for the authors. Accepted posters will be displayed at the conference and may
include additional materials, space permitting. Abstracts of posters will appear in the proceedings.
Demonstrations showcase innovative digital libraries technology and applications, allowing you to share your work directly with your
colleagues in a high visibility setting. Demonstration proposals should consist of a title, 1-page extended abstract and contact
information of the authors. Abstracts of demonstrations will appear in the proceedings.
Poster and Demonstration contributions are to be submitted in electronic form via the JCDL 2007 submission web page. Contributions

Tutorials
Proposals for tutorials and workshops are also solicited. Tutorials are intended to present a single topic in detail over either a

programs); a description or topical outline of tutorial (1-2 paragraphs, to be used for evaluation); duration (half- or full-day);
expected number of participants; target audience, including level of experience (introductory, intermediate, advanced); learning

full-day), and expected number of attendees; information about how the attendees will be identified, notified of the workshop, and,
