It is not only connected with the joy of eating but also deeply affects various aspects of human life such as health, dietary, culinary art, entertainment, human communication, and so on. Many people who cook at home require supports for cooking because it requires experience and knowledge. They may also need support for food-logging and menu planning for the health of their family. Needless to say, support for a good and enjoyable meal would improve the quality of life. Systematic cooking/eating support for elderly or physically challenged people is also significantly important. As the fifth meeting of this workshop series, it aims to provide an opportunity for such research groups to discover each other, introduce their trials, and discuss how it should be and where they should go. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Relevant Topics: - Application for cooking and eating support - Cooking archiving and recognition - Learning contents creation for cooking - Analysis of cooking video - Recipe image/video retrieval - Analysis and utilization on cooking recipe - Menu planning, dietary management, and food log - Artificial agent for cooking/eating activity - Sensing of taste/ smell/ texture - Food communication (human-to-human / human-to-computer communication) - Ubiquitous environment and interface in kitchen - Intelligent home appliance - Cooking navigation interface for the dementia and physically challenged person support - Multimedia learning contents for dietary - Multimedia information service for food safety and security ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Important dates Paper Submission Deadline: June 3, 2013 Notification of Acceptance: July 10, 2013 Camera Ready Deadline: July 26, 2013 Workshop Date: Half-day in October 21, 2013 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Review criteria & process Each paper submission will be reviewed by more than two experts. The AMFUs prepare district-level agromet bulletins based on weather forecast and existing crop status information. The eAgromet is an IT-enabled agro-meteorological advisory system. The objective of eAgromet is to improve the efficiency of agromet advisory bulletin preparation and dissemination process by exploiting advances in both agriculture and information technologies. In this talk, I will discuss about the background, basic ideas, the components and functionality of the eAgromet prototype. Speaker :　Prof. Cyrus Shahabi (The University of Southern California ) Title: Geo-Immersion: A Data-Centric (Big-Data) Approach Towards Situational Awareness In this talk, I first introduce the Integrated Media Systems Center (IMSC), a graduated NSF Engineering Research Center at USC in the area of multimedia. The current research focus of IMSC is on a new geo-socio-temporal computing paradigm, termed Geo-Immersion. Geo-Immersion enables humans to capture, model and integrate real-world data into a geo-realistic virtual replica of the world for situational awareness. It encompasses research in many interesting topics such as multimedia, crowdsourcing, privacy, trust, geospatial and temporal data management, etc. I will then present the IMSC’s three Geo-Immersive applications in Intelligent Transportation, Intelligent Surveillance and Intelligent Campus. I will use “Big Data” as the common theme across these applications and discuss the various Big Data challenges we are addressing under each application, including: 1) Big Data acquisition, storage, and access (TransDec), 2) Big Data analytics (iWatch) and 3) Big Data collection with geo-crowdsourcing (iCampus). -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 中野　美由紀東京大学　生産技術研究所　戦略情報融合国際研究センタ Miyuki NAKANO Institute of Industrial Science, Univ. of Tokyo 　　　　　　　　Center for Information Fusion miyuki(a)tkl.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp

By computationally analyzing such network data we can study phenomena that were once essentially invisible to us: the social interactions and collective behavior of hundreds of millions of people. In this talk we discuss how computational perspectives and mathematical models can be developed to abstract online social phenomena like: How will a community or a social network evolve in the future? What are emerging ideas and trends in the network? How does information flow and mutate as it is passed from a node to node like an epidemic? -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 中野　美由紀東京大学　生産技術研究所　戦略情報融合国際研究センタ Miyuki NAKANO Institute of Industrial Science, Univ. of Tokyo 　　　　　　　　Center for Information Fusion miyuki(a)tkl.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp

22 Mar '13

宇田川　佳久 -------------------------------- C A L L F O R P A P E R S The 15th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services (iiWAS2013) in Conjunction with The 11th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia (MoMM2013) 2 - 4 December 2013 Vienna, Austria http://www.iiwas.org/conferences/iiwas2013/ email: iiwas2013(a)iiwas.org **** Important Dates ***** 15 July 2013: Full Papers (10 pages), Short papers, Demos and work in progress (4 pages) 22 September 2013: Acceptance Notification 10 October 2013: Camera-Ready Papers and Authors Registration 02-04 December 2013: Conference Dates ***** Publication ***** ALL accepted iiWAS2013 papers will be published by ACM International Conference Proceedings Series and the supplemental proceedings and indexed appropriately in all major indexes. Selected high-quality papers will be invited to be published, after revision and extension, in special issues of international journals and in a book in the Book Series: Atlantis Ambient and Pervasive Intelligence published by Springer. **** Scope ***** WWW has been driving global information integration. In spite of the many applications in all domains of our societies: e-business, e-commerce, e-learning, e-science, and e-government, for instance, as well as the tremendous advances by engineers and scientists, the seamless integration of information and services remains a major challenge. The current shared vision for the future is one of semantically rich information and service oriented architectures for global information systems. This vision is at the convergence of progress in technologies such as XML, Web services, RDF, OWL, of multimedia, multimodal, and multilingual information retrieval, and of distributed, mobile and ubiquitous computing. iiWAS2013 is the 15th in the series of the highly successful International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Systems. Recently, iiWAS has been held in Bali (2012), Ho Chi Minh City (2011), Paris (2010), Kuala Lumpur (2009), and Linz (2008). This year, Vienna will host iiWAS2013.The iiWAS conference series have provided opportunities to researchers, graduate students, and industry practitioners to address recent research results and current industry practices in the area of information integration and web-based applications. We invite two types of submissions: Full Technical Papers and Short Position Papers. A Full Paper should provide solid conceptual and theoretical foundation and substantial support for its results and conclusions as a significant contribution to the field. A Position Paper could be "demo" or ? work in progress, i.e., it reports the latest emerged ideas, approaches, methodologies, systems and application scenarios but have not yet been fully implemented and/or undergone extensive evaluation. ***** Topics ***** iiWAS2013 conference themes, grouped in four tracks, are the following (but are not limited to): 1.
