I will present an implementation of the text-understanding-based summarisation idea by Kintsch and van Dijk (1978), which assumes that summarisation can be simulated by an incremental text-understanding process which operates within human memory limitations. The model is "deep", and current technology in NLP can of course not capture all that would be needed to fully instantiate the model. The model is nevertheless interesting because it allows us to pinpoint the NLP areas where improvement can demonstrably result in better summaries -- namely the areas of coreference resolution and WSD, as I will demonstrate. The model is also interesting because in an extensive evaluation, it beats current models based on lexical semantics, centroid-based sentence centrality, and also those based on the random walk model in networks. データ解析コンペティション参加者募集のお知らせ

日本データベース学会会員の皆様東京電機大学の井上と申します。平成27年度データ解析コンペティション参加者の募集を開始しました。今回のトピックスは、板橋区役所様から行政機関として初めての窓口業務のログデータが提供されること、(株)アイディーズ様から15GB〜1.5TBのビッグデータが提供されることです。たくさんの方々のご応募をお待ち申し上げております。 ------------------------------------ データ解析コンペティション参加者募集 ------------------------------------ 　ACM-SIGMOD日本支部と日本データベース学会BI研究グループは共同でデータ解析コンペティションDB部会を開催します。今年度もグラフマイニングに関する分析も募集します。皆さまのご参加をお待ちしております。 ■データ解析コンペティションとは　平成6年より続くマーケティング関連のデータを用いたコンペティションであり、主催は経営科学系研究部会連合協議会です。コンペティションを通じてデータ解析及びモデル設計を行うことで、新たな知見を誘発し学術的及び実務的な研究の発展に寄与することを目的としています。　昨年は全国から約100チーム、延べ500名超が参加し、日本最大級の規模で開催されました。今年は8月4日(火)の発会式で開催概要と提供データの説明があり、参加申込受付が始まりました。　詳細は以下のウェブサイトをご参照ください。　http://jasmac-j.jimdo.com/ ■コンペティションの仕組み　コンペティションは、専門分野ごとに設けられた部会で予選を行い、上位チームが最終選考に進むという流れで行われます。　一昨年度からACM-SIGMOD日本支部が主催団体に加わり、データベース分野を担当するDB部会において、独自の選考基準による予選を行っています。 DB部会は昨年度と同じ以下の体制です。　共同主査：井上潮(東京電機大学)、関根純(専修大学) 　委員：宇田川佳久(東京工芸大学)、大塚真吾(神奈川工科大学)、鬼塚真(大阪大学)、　　　　北山大輔(工学院大学)、波多野賢治(同志社大学)、増田英孝(東京電機大学) 　アドバイザ：川越恭二(立命館大学) ■コンペティションに参加するメリット　コンペティションに参加することによって、参加者には以下のメリットがあります。　・通常では入手が困難な大量の実データを利用することができます(内容後述)。　・データ解析のための商用ツールの無償貸与を受けることができます。　・各チーム共通のデータを解析することによりモデル構築およびデータ解析技術を他のチームと競い合うことができます。　・研究成果に関する知的財産権は研究を行ったチームに帰属し、学会発表や論文投稿ができます（ただし、主催者からの許諾が必要）。　・学生の場合は、卒業論文・修士論文・博士論文での利用が可能であるとともに、就職活動での自己アピールの材料にもなります。　さらに、DB部会の予選に参加する場合には、以下のメリットもあります。　・データベースの観点から見て新規性・実用性が高い研究も評価されます(例えば、テキストデータの解析やシステムの高速化など)。　・DB部会の最終発表会ではチーム名とともに個人名・所属機関名を記載した予稿をご提出いただくことにより、個人の研究業績にすることができます。 ■提供データ 1. 板橋区役所様提供，申請受付システムログ＋POS 2.
