All submissions must be in PDF format. Authors should avoid the use of non-English fonts to avoid problems with printing and viewing the submissions. All accepted papers MUST follow strictly the instructions for LNCS Authors. Springer LNCS site offers style files and information: http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0p APWEB/WAIM 2019 will employ double-blind reviewing process. Every research paper submitted to APWEB/WAIM 2019 will undergo a "double-blind" reviewing process: the PC members and referees who review the paper will not know the identity of the authors. To ensure anonymity of authorship, authors must prepare their manuscript as follows: ● Authors' names and affiliations must not appear on the title page or elsewhere in the paper. ● Funding sources must not be acknowledged on the title page or elsewhere in the paper. ● Research group members, or other colleagues or collaborators, must not be acknowledged anywhere in the paper. ● The paper's file name must not identify the authors of the paper. It is strongly suggested that the submitted file be named with the assigned submission number. For example, if your assigned paper number is 352, then name your submission file 352.pdf. ● Source file naming must also be done with care, to avoid identifying the authors' name in the paper's associated metadata. For example, if your name is Jane Smith and you submit a PDF file generated from a .dvi file called Jane-Smith.dvi, your authorship could be inferred by looking into the PDF file. It is the responsibility of authors to do their very best to preserve anonymity. Papers that do not follow the GUILDLINES here, or otherwise potentially reveal the identity of the authors, are subject to immediate rejection. All papers should be submitted through the Conference Management Tool at: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/APWEBWAIM2019 -------------------- General Co-Chairs Heng Tao Shen (University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China) Kotagiri Ramamohanarao (University of Melbourne, Australia) Jiliu Zhou (Chengdu University of Information Technology, China) -------------------- Program Committee Co-Chairs Jie Shao (University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China) Man Lung Yiu (Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HK) Masashi Toyoda (University of Tokyo, Japan) --------------------

It is not only connected with the joy of eating but also deeply affects various aspects of human life such as health, culinary art, entertainment, and human communication. Cooking at home requires experience and knowledge. They may also need support for food-logging and menu planning for their family health. Needless to say, support for a good and enjoyable meal would improve the quality of life. Systematic cooking/eating support for elderly or physically challenged people is also significantly important. Since a cooking activity requires people to manipulate foods, watch their conditions, listen to the sounds, smell the aromas, and taste it, a cooking assistive system should also be capable of handling multiple sensitivities. CEA has been aiming to provide an opportunity for such research groups to discover each other, introduce their trials, and discuss their status and where they should go. The research community of CEA is truly interdisciplinary, including health science, domestic science, and cultural science. Even if we limit ourselves to computer science, there is related work in multimedia, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, data mining, and artificial intelligence. As the eleventh meeting of this workshop series, it aims to provide an opportunity for such research groups to discover each other, introduce their trials, and discuss how it should be and where they should go. ※重複して届きました場合はお許しください関連研究者のみなさま， NTTの東中です．対話システムの国際ワークショップIWSDSにて下記の special session を行います．内容がチャットよりでしたら，こちらのセッションへの投稿をご検討ください．締切が12/15 となっていますが，ワークショップ自体の〆切が延長されたことからこちらも併せて変更される予定です．なお，本セッション内で対話破綻検出チャレンジ4を実施する予定です．こちらは別のタイムラインで進行いたしますので，近く詳細をご連絡いたします．よろしくお願いいたします． -- CFP: WOCHAT & DBDC 2019 Workshop on Chatbots and Conversational Agent Technologies & Dialogue Breakdown Detection Challenge @ IWSDS 2019 (https://iwsds2019.unikore.it/) Workshop Description Although chat-oriented dialogue systems have been around for many years (almost fifty years indeed, if we consider Weizenbaum's Eliza system as the starting milestone), they have been recently gaining a lot of popularity in both research and commercial arenas. From the commercial stand point, chat-oriented dialogue seems to be providing an excellent means to engage users for entertainment purposes, as well as to give a more human-like appearance to established vertical goal-oriented dialogue systems. From the research perspective, on the other hand, this kind of systems poses interesting challenges and problems to the research community. The main objective of the workshop is to bring together researchers working on problems related to chat-oriented dialogue for promoting discussion and knowledge sharing about the state-of-the-art and novel techniques in this field, as well as to coordinate a collaborative effort to collect/generate data, resources and evaluation protocols for future research in this area. Topics of Interest This workshop invites original research contributions on all aspects of chat-oriented dialogue, including closely related areas such as knowledge representation and reasoning, language generation, and natural language understanding, among others. In this sense the workshop will invite for both long and short paper submissions in areas including (but not restricted to): - Chat-oriented dialogue systems - Data collections and resources - Information extraction - Natural language understanding - General domain knowledge representation - Common sense and reasoning - Natural language generation - Emotion detection and generation - Sense of humor detection and generation - Chat-oriented dialogue evaluation - User studies and system evaluation - Multimodal human-computer interaction In the workshop, there will be a slot for Dialogue Breakdown Detection Challenge. (see the details of the previous challenge at https://dbd-challenge.github.io/dbdc3/) The challenge will follow a different timeline; we announce the details soon. Paper Format and Submissions Paper submissions to WOCHAT should follow the IWSDS 2019 paper submission policy: single-blind review and in Springer LNCS format (https://iwsds2019.unikore.it/call-for-paper) Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers (up to 12 pages) or short papers (up to 8 pages). Paper submissions must be done in electronic format through the IWSDS 2009 Conference Submission page (https://easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?key=81335471.oDm5m3UuCGJG2I8K) where you must select "WOCHAT" under the available submission categories.
