There are great potentials, if people are able to query and search such information resources. Also, inter-networking technologies and information integration utilizing the world-wide-web may allow combining geographical querying techniques and web search engines in order to approach an integrated real-world search engine. This workshop aims to discuss advanced technologies on SensorWebs, databases and data mining in order to tap new information resources provided by networked sensing systems and make them useable in a large variety of application contexts. We invite technical papers about networked sensing systems, databases and data mining for spatial and temporal information and discuss technical issues on integrating sensor networks, databases and Internet technologies. The workshop will focus on data-driven and data-centric aspects of networked sensing systems rather than sensor devices and hardware architectures. Original papers on database and network technologies, e.g. sensor data, stream data, time-series data, geographic information and web information, are welcome. 先週末からのDBSJサーバの停止に関して

日本データベース学会の皆様お世話になっております。日本データベース学会のシステムメンテナンス担当の小西です。先週末から今朝にかけて，当学会のHPが閲覧できないという状態が続いておりました。その事で会員の皆様には大変ご迷惑をおかけしてしまいました。今回、このような事態に陥ったことの原因について説明させて頂きます。 HPの閲覧が不可能になっていた原因は、サーバのネットワーク接続に利用しているハブの暴走によるものでした。当大学のサーバを設置してある部屋の鍵は、常時施錠されており入室するためには鍵を管理している事務室にお願いしなければなりません。しかしながら、事務室は基本的に平日の午後5時までしか開いておらず、我々がサーバの異常を察知したのが先週金曜日の夕方頃であったために、その翌週の火曜日まで復旧作業の方を行うことが出来ませんでした。以上の事情があったことをご理解いただけたら幸いでございます。 -- 岡山県立大学大学院情報系工学研究科　電子情報通信工学専攻知能メディア工学研究室小西　裕 Mail address : konishi(a)c.oka-pu.ac.jp

R. Arabnia by Feb. 20, 2007 (hra(a)cs.uga.edu) E-mail submissions in MS Doc or PDF formats are preferable (postal mail submissions are also fine.) All reasonable typesetting formats are acceptable (later, the authors of accepted papers will be asked to follow a particular typesetting format to prepare their papers for publication.) The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 (IEEE style) pages. Papers must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. The first page of the draft paper should include: title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, email address, and telephone number for each author. The first page should also identify the name of the author who will be presenting the paper (if accepted) and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that would best represent the content of the paper. Finally, the name of the conference/track that the paper is being submitted to must be stated on the first page. Each paper will be refereed by two experts in the field who are independent of the conference program committee. The referees' evaluations will then be reviewed by two members of the program committee who will recommend a decision to the chair of the track that the paper has been submitted to. The track chair will make the final decision. Lastly, the Camera-Ready papers will be reviewed by one member of the program committee. Many of the 25 joint conferences in WORLDCOMP are the premier conferences for presentation of advances in their respective fields. We anticipate to have 2000 or more attendees from over 75 countries participating in the 2007 event. The motivation is to assemble a spectrum of affiliated research conferences into a coordinated research meeting held in a common place at a common time. The main goal is to provide a forum for exchange of ideas in a number of research areas that interact. The model used to form these annual conferences facilitates communication among researchers from all over the world in different fields of computer science, computer engineering and applied computing. Both inward research (core areas of computer science and engineering) and outward research (multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, and applications) will be covered during the conferences. The symposium focuses on recent advances in signal processing for communications (SPCOM). It aims to foster interaction of researchers and exchange new ideas by bringing together members of the signal processing, communications and information theory communities.
