The 9th International Conference on Mobile Web Information Systems (MobiWIS)

Advances in the Web and mobile technologies offer new and exciting services to users in every walk of life including commerce, business, entertainment, education and science among others. These new developments however introduce many new challenging problems as users demand fast, easy and reliable access to the high volume of web information and services from anywhere, on any device and any platform. The International Conference on Mobile Web Information Systems (MobiWIS) aims to promote the state of the art in scientific and practical research of the mobile Web and information systems. It provides a forum for bringing together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and public sector in an effort to present their research work and share knowledge and experiences of the tools, techniques, technologies, models and methodologies that lead to better information and service provisioning in the mobile Web and information systems.
The conference comprises various tracks which feature recent research relating to the theme of the conference. MobiWIS-2012 will be held in conjunction with the 3rd International Conferenceon Ambient Systems, Networks and Technologies (ANT-2012) <http://cs-conferences.acadiau.ca/ant-12/>.

Publication:
All MobiWIS-2012 accepted papers will be printed in the conference proceedings published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series (on-line and CD). Procedia Computer Sciences is hosted on www.Elsevier.com and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect (www.sciencedirect.com) and will be freely available worldwide. All papers in Procedia will also be indexed by Scopus (www.scopus.com) and Engineering Village (Ei) (www.engineeringvillage.com) This includes EI Compendex (www.ei.org/compendex) The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers. You will be able to provide a hyperlink to all delegates and direct your conference website visitors to your proceedings. All accepted papers will also be indexed in DBLP (http://dblp.uni-trier.de/)
Selected papers of MobiWIS-2012 will also be published in the special issues of the international journals.

TOPICS
The workshop will provide the research communities working on web quality,
web spam, abuse, credibility, and reputation topics with a survey of
current problems and potential solutions. We solicit the following types of
submissions on any aspect of web content quality:
* Full papers, describing contributions to the field, and
* Short papers, presenting work in progress.
Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
Assessing the credibility of content and people on the web and social media
* Measuring quality of web content
* Uncovering distorted and biased content
* Modeling author identity, trust, and reputation
* Role of groups and communities
* Multimedia content credibility
Fighting spam, abuse, and plagiarism on the Web and social media
* Reducing web spam
* Reducing abuses of electronic messaging systems
* Detecting abuses in internet advertising
* Uncovering plagiarism and multiple-identity issues
* Promoting cooperative behavior in social networks
* Security issues with online communication

Full papers are limited to 8 pages, while short papers to 4 pages. Papers
should be formatted according to the ACM style guide <
http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates> and submitted
via <https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=webquality2012>.
As in previous years, we are making arrangements to include the accepted
papers in the ACM Digital Library.
