As a consequence, new methodologies and technological tools are necessary to analyze and make sense of these data and provide personalized scaffolding and services to stakeholders including students, faculty/teachers and administrators, as well as parents. Pedagogical and organizational models must also be incorporated in order to take advantage of the personalized scaffolding and services to ensure productive learning and teaching. In addition, access to data from different sources raises a number of concerns related to data sharing and interoperability, and protection of privacy for individuals and business interests for institutions. :::Joint Activity on predicting student performance::: This year participants will also have a chance to partake in a joint activity on the prediction of student performance by analyzing reading patterns from logs of an e-book system. A dataset of anonymized reading log data is provided in advance to create models that can predict the final grade scores for each student. Participants will be encouraged to share their results and insights by submitting a paper for presentation at the workshop. Every object derives certain gain from becoming a member of a particular partition. The amount of gain depends on the other objects present in the partition and its relative position with respect to them, and it is specified through a gain function. The gain function is additive in the sense that the sum of the gains of the individual objects add up to the total gain for the population. The objective is to make partitions in such a way that they collectively maximize the gain for the whole population. We call this partitioning, the nco-partitioning, to emphasize that the objects within a partition may occupy non-contiguous positions in the original order, albeit they maintain this order within every partition. We study two natural forms of gain functions, mean maximization and percentile maximization, and provide an algorithm, called StratifiedRandom, which is able to find optimal partitioning for both in linearithmic time. Interestingly, the partitioning produced is simultaneously optimal for both the functions. We also show that the well-known Round Robin and Elevator algorithms can be derived from StratifiedRandom and their gain characteristics are identical to StratifiedRandom. We also compare the gain of StratifiedRandom with three other algorithms, both analytically and empirically. Recently, 3D indoor mapping systems, terrestrial mobile mapping systems (MMS) and airborne LiDAR systems are capable of collecting terabytes of data (including images and point clouds) in a single scan or on a single trip. Existing approaches and tools lack the efficient management, processing and analysis of 3D Bigdata and the construction of 3D maps. The solution to this problem lies in the use of Artificial Intelligence to redefine the workflow. This workshop focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence and deep learning to improve the processing, management and analysis of 3D Bigdata and its use in the 3D mapping. CALL FOR PAPERS ====================================================== First International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence for 3D Bigdata Processing (AI3D 2018) Co-located with IEEE AIKE 2018 October 1-3, 2018, Laguna Hills, California, USA AI3D 2018: https://sites.google.com/site/ai3dbigdataprocessing IEEE AIKE 2018: http://www.ieee-aike.org/2018/ ====================================================== Abstract ====================================================== Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to take the 3D Bigdata processing into hypergrowth. Recently, 3D indoor mapping systems, terrestrial mobile mapping systems (MMS) and airborne LiDAR systems are capable of collecting terabytes of data (including images and point clouds) in a single scan or on a single trip. Existing approaches and tools lack the efficient management, processing and analysis of 3D Bigdata and the construction of 3D maps. The solution to this problem lies in the use of Artificial Intelligence to redefine the workflow. This workshop focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence and deep learning to improve the processing, management and analysis of 3D Bigdata and its use in the 3D mapping. Topics of Interest ====================================================== A list of topics of interest includes but is not limited to: -AI and the 3D scanning technologies and devices -Use of AI in 3D view registration and surface modeling -Intelligent LiDAR data processing, management and analysis -AI based object detection from point cloud and images -Supervised/Unsupervised object annotation in 3D data -3D Bigdata architectures -3D Bigdata cleaning, compression and integration -Distributed, parallel and peer-to-peer approaches to index, search and process 3D Bigdata -3D Bigdata visualization and analytics -3D Bigdata applications Venue ====================================================== Laguna Hills, California, USA Submission Instructions and Review Process ====================================================== Authors are invited to submit a 6-page manuscript in double-column IEEE format. Manuscripts must be written in English and follow the instructions in the Manuscript Formatting and Templates ( https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html) All paper submissions will be carefully reviewed by at least three experts and reviews will be returned to the author(s) with comments to ensure the high quality of the accepted papers. The authors of the accepted papers must guarantee that their paper(s) will be presented at the workshop. Please only submit original material where copyright of all the parts is owned by the authors and which is not currently under review elsewhere. Please see the IEEE policies for further information. 対話破綻検出チャレンジ3 データセット公開のお知らせ
