日本データベース学会の皆様筑波大の森嶋です． DASFAA2014でのクラウドソーシングワークショップUnCrowdの論文募集をお送りいたします．投稿をご検討いただければ幸いです．どうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます． UnCrowd 2014: DASFAA Workshop on Uncertain and Crowdsourced Data http://dbweb.enst.fr/events/uncrowd2014/ ================================================================ Crowdsourcing systems, such as Amazon Mechanical Turk and CrowdFlower, utilize human power to perform difficult tasks, such as entity resolution, search, filtering, image matching, or clustering. The important issues of collecting and managing the large volume of data in these applications have attracted plenty of attention from the database community. Typically, data obtained from crowdsourcing platforms are to be considered as uncertain, because of various levels of quality obtained by crowd workers. Uncertain data management has also received considerable attention in the data management community. Models, algorithms, systems, for fuzzy databases, probabilistic databases, or reasoning under incompleteness, have been proposed and numerous applications, from information integration to information extraction and data cleaning, have been identified. The objective of this workshop is to explore the connection between uncertain data management and crowdsourcing. How can the crowd reduce uncertainty in data obtained from automatic processes, such as schema matching or machine learning? How can uncertain data management techniques be applied to the modeling of the crowd? In addition to submissions accepted for publication (see below), the workshop will feature a keynote talk by Lei Chen (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). Topics ------ The topics of interest of the workshop include, but are not limited to: - Cleaning data obtained from crowdsourcing - Crowdsourcing systems and models - Curation of uncertain and incomplete data - Evaluation of crowd workers - Information integration using the crowd - Probabilistic modeling of the crowd - Provenance of data - Quality of crowdsourced data - Querying and updating uncertain data - Resolving uncertainty in data using the crowd - Truth detection - Uncertain data management applications - Uncertain data models: fuzzy databases, probabilistic databases, Dempster-Shafer theory... - Uncertainty in crowdsourced data - Uncertainty in data generated by automatic processes Note in particular that it is not required for a submission to the workshop to cover both the crowdsourcing and uncertainty aspects, though such submissions are particularly welcome; one of the goals of the workshop is to start discussions between researchers across these areas. Submission instructions ----------------------- The workshop will consider papers presenting new or promising results revolving around the topics listed in the call for papers. Papers should respect the LNCS format, and should not exceed 15 pages. Shorter submissions are possible and even encouraged, should the authors want to present more prospective works. The submissions must not be prevously published or considered for publication in other venues. All submissions will be reviewed by at least three reviewers, and will be handled electronically. All papers accepted by DASFAA 2014 workshops will be published in a combined volume of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series published by Springer (pending for approval). Authors should avoid the use of non-English fonts to avoid problems with printing and viewing the submissions. All accepted papers MUST follow strictly the instructions for LNCS Authors. Springers LNCS site offers style files and information. There is no short-paper track. The PC chairs may offer the authors of selected submissions the opportunity to publish a shorter version of their submissions. Submissions must not have been published previously and must not be under review for publication while being considered for DASFAA. This applies also to papers with significantly overlapping contributions. Authors are advised to interpret these limitations strictly and to contact the PC chairs in case of doubt.
