Such an environment enables users to access a wide range of services and applications using a large variety of mobile and ubiquitous devices (e.g., cell phones, handheld computers, and so on). In order to accelerate this trend in the future, further progresses of the researches on wireless and pervasive computing, especially on data management, are necessary. Following the success of DMWPCs (2008 in Okinawa, Japan / 2009 in Bradford, UK / 2010 in Perth, Australia / 2011 in Biopolis, Singapore), DMWPC 2012 aims to bring together practitioners and researchers from both academia and industry in order to have a forum for discussion and technical presentations on the current researches and future research directions related to this hot research area. 9月22日（水）日本データベース学会の皆様、 sigmod-japan幹事　大森（電気通信大学）です。10月1日（土）に開かれる先端的データベースと Web と読めるわけですが、基調講演自体は　1ページ概要しか出ていません。　今後の巨大データ処理の技術動向を考える上では本会の国際会議報告会　は論文紹介に留まらず、貴重な情報を提供するよう　報告者の先生が相当　工夫しておられます。次に、IBMのInfosphere Streamsの講演ですが、手元の資料は強力に充実しております。ストリームコンピューティング　と言われても　今一つ具体的な成功例の感触が弱いという印象の方、ぜひ今回ご参加ください。 Streamsの製品自体の解説は　IBM社のWEBサイトを見ると　出ておりますが、（今調べてみると　こういうURLがあります： http://www-06.ibm.com/software/jp/data/infosphere/streams/ 各位　SIGMOD-JAPANの幹事を務めております大森（電気通信大学）です。来週10月1日（土）に、sigmod-japan恒例となりました第48回支部大会として、国際会議報告と特別講演　　http://www.sigmodj.org/Events/taikai48.html を、表参道にある青山学院大学　アスタジオ http://www.aoyamagakuin.jp/practice/redevelopment/project/astudio.html にて開催いたしますので、そのご案内を差し上げます。（プログラムと参加手順は　最後につけてあります。） ------ 今回の目玉１: SIGMOD2011　　-------- 　今回の国際会議報告は　ACM SIGMOD2011（６・１２開催、アテネ、渡辺陽介先生＠東工大）です。　今回の報告では、午前に、SIGMODの基調講演で行なわれました「Internet Scale Storage」と「科学データ管理」いう発表の報告を行ないます。これらは、DB研究の立場から、巨大データ・クラウドコンピューティング・科学技術データ処理・脳計算（シナプス）とインデックス、など米国のチャレンジを取り上げており、デジタル論文集を読むだけではわからない中身となっています。また、併設のPODS2011の基調講演からは、データの来歴管理(Data Provenance) の具体的な研究体系の話を取り上げています。これも　なかなか面白い話で、上手い体系を作るのに皆苦心しているが重要性は日本でも良く認識されている領域と思います。　午後の報告では、best paper を中心に、クラウドソーシングとDB技術の統合利用方式など、ホットな個別研究のご紹介を頂きます。 ------- 今回の目玉２：　IBM　のストリーム計算システム　------ 　さらに、今回の支部大会では、特別講演として、午後の後半部に、 IBMのストリーム計算プラットフォーム　IBM InfoSphere Streams のご紹介を　IBM東京基礎研究所の安江俊明博士にお引き受け頂きました。ここ数年のSIGMODなどでIBMから出ていたストリーム計算システムの具体的な中身を発表していただけます。巨大データ＋リアルタイムなデータ処理＋高価値創出と、最近のITトレンドを牽引するIBM社のストリームシステム体系のプログラミングモデルや実装モデル、Streams
