The 1st Workshop on New Generation Databases and Data-Empowering Technologies in Big Data
Era (D2ET)
in conjunction with IEEE BigData 2025 (Dec.8th to 11th, Macau, China)

In the era of big data, vast and diverse data are stored and managed across various
locations in the real world. These fragmented and isolated repositories, so-called “data
islands,” significantly diminish the utility of data. To fully realize the potential of
big data, it is essential to eliminate such data islands and promote integration. This
workshop seeks to explore new directions in database research aimed at enhancing the value
and usability of big data. This workshop is jointly organized by the A3 Foresight Program
“New Generation Databases and Data-Empowering Technologies” supported by Japan Society for
the Promotion of Science (JSPS), National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), and National
Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

Unification of multi-source data
Not limited to the above. Any research papers related to databases in big data era are
welcome.
Important Dates:
Oct 19 2025 23:59 AoE: Due date for full workshop papers submission
Nov 9 2025: Notification of paper acceptance to authors
Nov 23 2025: Camera-ready of accepted papers
Dec 8 to 11 2025: one day workshop in conjunction with IEEE Big Data 2025
* Papers should be formatted to IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript Formatting
Guidelines
* Papers should be up to 10 pages (references included), in the IEEE 2-column format.
* You are strongly encouraged to print and double check your PDF file before its
submission, especially if your paper contains Asian/European language symbols (such as
Chinese/Korean characters or English letters with European fonts).
