Thus, we are in a time which we could call the "information-explosion era." In the information-explosion era, establishing new techniques for both data processing and communication in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a crucial and challenging issue. This workshop (SeNTIE 2009) aims to provide a platform for discussing open issues, current challenges and solutions, as well as directions for future research on data processing and communication techniques of WSNs in the information-explosion era.
