The goal of the International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (BigComp), initiated by KIISE (Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers), is to provide an international forum for exchanging ideas and information on current studies, challenges, research results, system developments, and practical experiences in these emerging fields among researchers, developers, and users from academia, business and industry. Following the successes of the previous BigComp conferences in Bangkok, Thailand (2014), Jeju, Korea (2015), Hong Kong, China (2016), Jeju, Korea (2017), Shanghai, China (2018), Kyoto, Japan (2019), Busan, Korea (2020), Jeju, Korea (2021), Daegu, Korea (2022), Jeju, Korea (2023), Bangkok, Thailand (2024), Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia (2025), Guangzhou, China (2026), the 2027 IEEE International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (IEEE BigComp 2027) will be held in Fukuoka, Japan. The conference is co-sponsored by IEEE and KIISE. IEEE BigComp 2027 invites authors to submit original research papers and as well original work-in-progress reports on big data and smart computing. Paper Categories and Page Limits IEEE BigComp 2027 invites the following types of paper submissions: • Research and industry papers: full papers, up to 8 pages • Research and industry papers: short papers, up to 4 pages • Poster papers: up to 2 pages TOPICS of interest: We invite the submission of original research contributions in the following areas, but also welcome any original contributions that may cross the boundaries among areas or point in other novel directions. In addition, IEEE BigComp 2027 encourages submissions about products, practices, and services in industry: • AI for big data and smart computing • Big data analytics and social media • Big data applications / big data as a service • Big data ecosystem • Big data in the era of LLMs • Bioinformatics, multimedia, smartphones, etc. • Cloud and grid computing for big data • Crowdsourcing and human-in-the-loop • Data mining and data science • Data and information quality • Disaster analysis • Infrastructure and platform for big data and smart computing • Knowledge graph, graph data management and mining • Machine learning and AI theory and fundamentals • Mobile communications and smart location-based services • Recommender systems • Search/retrieval and generation of big data • Security and privacy for big data • Smart computing models, tools, and devices • Techniques, models and algorithms for big data • Tools and systems for big data • Understanding multi-modal data Important Dates Full, Short, Poster, and Demonstration Papers Deadlines in AoE (Anywhere on Earth) Submission October 30, 2026 Notification November 30, 2026 Camera-ready December, 2026 Please register your title and abstract on EasyChair by October 16. Submission Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the IEEE two-column conference paper format. Only electronic submissions in PDF format will be considered. Page limits are 8 pages for full research and industry papers, 4 pages for short research and industry papers, and 2 pages for poster papers. Paper submissions will be handled through EasyChair. https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ieeebc27 When submitting, please select the appropriate track (Research and Industry Papers, or Posters) and, for research and industry papers, choose the correct category (Research or Industry, Full or Short). Please select all relevant topics; if your work does not fit the listed topics, select “Others” together with the closest related topic(s). Research and industry papers and poster papers are reviewed double-blind. Please remove author names, affiliations, and any other identifying information from your manuscript. At least one author of each accepted paper is expected to present the paper in person at the conference. Online presentation may be considered only in exceptional cases where unavoidable circumstances prevent in-person attendance, subject to approval by the conference organizers. =============================================== Masato OGUCHI, Dr.Eng.
