Call for Papers: ABC2027

9th International Conference on Activity and Behavior Computing

January 19–22, 2027

Sydney, Australia (Hybrid)

Theme:

Integrating Vision, Sensors, and AI for Real-world Behavior Analysis

Human Activity Recognition has been researched in thousands of papers so far, with mobile/environmental sensors in ubiquitous/pervasive domains, and with cameras in vision domains. Human Behavior Analysis is also explored for long-term healthcare, rehabilitation, emotion recognition, human interaction, and more.

However, many research challenges remain for realistic settings, such as complex and ambiguous activities and behaviors, optimal sensor combinations, deep machine learning, data collection, platform systems, and killer applications.

In this conference, we comprehend such research domains as ABC: Activity and Behavior Computing, and provide an open and confluent place for discussing various aspects and the future of ABC.

Categories:

• Regular papers: Full technical content papers, published in either (subject to approval) IEEE proceedings (4–10 pages) or IJABC (International Journal of Activity and Behavior Computing) (6–15 pages).

• Position papers (2 or more pages, IJABC format): Describe the challenges and future directions of ABC based on problems that arise when systems are deployed in real-world settings. Position papers will not be published.

• Challenge papers (TBA): A dataset will be provided for a recognition challenge. Submissions should describe the methods and results and will be published in IJABC.

Format:

• Please use the appropriate IEEE or IJABC template available on the conference website.

• Submit via the Microsoft CMT service and select ABC. (Submission site: TBA.)

• Author information must be removed from the paper for double-blind review.

• Title/abstract submission: August 11, 2026

• Paper submission: September 8, 2026

• Decision: October 13, 2026

• Resubmission: November 10, 2026

• Camera-ready submission: December 8, 2026

• Conference: January 19–22, 2027
