Social network analysis, semantic web, bioinformatics, and cheminformatics are some examples of application domains that deal with large graphs containing billions of vertices and edges. Graph processing has attracted significant attention from the high performance computing community due to the complexities involved with the processing and storage of large graphs. Data management systems such as in-memory, distributed graph databases have been introduced for storing and managing large graphs. Graph processing frameworks and libraries have been developed to simplify high performance large scale graph processing. Furthermore, large scale distributed-memory compute clusters, single shared-memory high performance computers, and heterogeneous hardware containing GPUs and FPGAs have been used for carrying out large scale graph data processing tasks. These efforts have been bo lstered by graph related benchmarking initiatives such as the Graph 500 and Green Graph 500 benchmarks. Despite these significant research efforts, there still exist significant issues and technical gaps which need to be solved in the area of high performance graph data management and processing. The High Performance Graph Data Management and Processing 2016 (HPGDMP16) workshop aims to provide a unified platform for discussing the latest state-of-the-art efforts conducted to address research issues related to high performance large graph management and processing. HPGDMP’16 will be held in conjunction with the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis 2016 (SC16). HPGDMP16 will be held in cooperation with ACM SIGHPC. The workshop will take place in the Salt Lake City Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah. We invite researchers who work in graph data management and processing in high performance computing environments to submit their original (full/short) papers. Submissions will be peer-reviewed in single-blinded manner. The main topics of the workshop include, but are not limited to: * Novel large graph data management systems * Novel large graph processing frameworks and programming paradigms * Graph processing in manycore processors such as GPUs, Xeon Phi, etc. * Graph data management and processing in the cloud * HPC graph databases and query languages * Novel graph partitioning algorithms * Application experiences of large graph processing on HPC environments * Benchmarks for large graph processing workloads * Performance characterization of large graph mining tasks * Scalable graph analysis algorithms and novel data structures * High performance streaming graph processing algorithms Submissions --------------------- A submitted paper should be of one of two types: 1. Regular Research Paper: The paper will report original research results with sound evaluation. It should be at most 8 pages. 2. Short Paper: The paper will present an on-going work or a survey. It will clearly state the problem to be addressed, an outline of the methodology that the authors plan to follow, and preliminary evaluation results. It should be at most 4 pages. Only electronic submissions in PDF format will be considered. Submitted manuscripts may not exceed the specified page limits including tables, figures, and references. All submissions must be prepared in the ACM Proceedings Style (http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates). The papers must be formatted as single-blinded.
