日本データベース学会の皆様 9月12日〜15日にお隣韓国で開催されるVLDB2006国際会議ですが，8月2日の時点で； 507 conference registrations (303 regular, 204 students) and 61 workshop-only registrations, totalling 568. The total number of workshop registrations is 232 (for the 12 workshops). という報告を会議委員長のProf.Kyu-Young Whangから受けました． まだ，参加登録が来るであろうとの見込みで，本来は7月末のEarly registraton deadlineを8月10日まで延長するとのことです． なお，現在日本からの申込み状況は以下のとおりです． From Japan, we had 15 regular + 1 student + 2 workshop only. 少ないように思います．皆様，ふるって参加してください． ****VLDB2006 CALL FOR PARTICIPATION ****

* Conference Synopsis: VLDB is the premier international conference on database technology, organized every year by the VLDB Endowment. VLDB 2006 will be held in Seoul, the biggest city in Korea. A city with a population of 11 million, Seoul has been the capital city of Korea for nearly 600 years and has many historical relics and tourist resorts.
