The annual ICDE conference addresses research issues in designing, buil= ding, managing, and evaluating advanced data-intensive systems and applica= tions. It is a leading forum for researchers, practitioners, developers, a= nd users to explore cutting-edge ideas and to exchange techniques, tools, = and experiences. We invite the submission of original research contributio= ns and industrial papers, as well as proposals for workshops, panels, tuto= rials, and demonstrations.

ICDE 2012 will be held in Washington, DC, USA, April 1-5, 2012.=C2=A0 Wa= shington DC is the nation=E2=80=99s capital of USA.=C2=A0 Washington DC is= a perfect spot to ring in Spring, with famous and beautiful cherry blosso= ms, and is a cosmopolitan city brimming with a unique American history.=C2= =A0 The conference will be held at Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hote= l near the Regan National Airport.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D
All submissions must be prepared in the IEEE camera-ready format and sub= mitted to the CMT system at https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/ICDE2012<= /u>. Research and industrial paper submissions are limited to 12 pages. A = paper submitted to ICDE 2012 cannot be under review for any other conferen= ce or journal during the entire time it is considered for ICDE 2012, and i= t must be substantially different from any previously published work (othe= r than posters or short papers with a length of up to 4 pages when convert= ed into the IEEE format). Submissions to the industrial program may be pap= er-length or extended abstracts of 1-2 pages. They should present interest= ing aspects of commercial products and services and lessons learned from p= ractical usage, not research results or prototypes from industry labs.

Submissions are reviewed in a single-blind manner. Authors of research = papers will have an opportunity to give concise feedback on preliminary re= views within a one-week time window.

All accepted papers will appear in the proceedings. The online proceedi= ngs may be published as early as February 1, 2012.=C2=A0 Accepted papers w= ill be 12 pages long.=C2=A0 The best papers will be selected for extended= versions to be published in the IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data E= ngineering. IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution a= fter the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the authors do not = attend the conference to present their paper.
